Reinforced Concrete Piles: Choosing Price and Quality

lethycorp

star icon Reinforced Concrete Piles There are many types of reinforced concrete piles floating on the market with a full range of prices. There are low prices, there are medium prices, there are also high prices. For those in the construction profession, we probably all know the quality of these types of piles. But for non-professionals, those who do not work in the construction field, that is probably the biggest concern when deciding to choose a partner to start building a house.

I believe that the foundation of a house is very important; it carries the future of your family. Today, I would like to present some assessments of piles and pile quality, so that those who haven't built a house yet, or those who need to learn more about piles, can understand them better before making a choice.

Reinforced concrete piles The piles we commonly use for residential buildings, townhouses, and family villas typically have a cross-section of 250mm x 250mm or D300 prestressed round piles.

Regarding square piles 250mmx250mm:

  • About the main structure Consists of 4 main steel bars Ø16. Stirrups Ø6, with stirrup spacing in the order a50 – a100 – a200, – a100 – a50. Box gusset plate: 5 mm to 8 mm thick.

We can observe the image below:

Le thy pile details

Here, the distance a50 means that the two steel belts are 50mm apart, a100 is 100mm, etc.

The tip of the pile and the tail of the pile need more strapping than is intended to bear the force when pressing.

Steel Directional tip: Usually use Ø16 –Ø22 steel for this type of pile.

 Crane hook steel : for piles <=8 meters, use Ø10 steel, L = 1.2 meters, for piles > 8 meters, using Ø 16 steel, L = 1.6 meters.

Steel mesh: The pile head mesh steel consists of 3 layers, each layer consists of 8 Ø6 steel bars stacked on top of each other to form a solid square.

Code steel Connect the two pile sections together using a pile junction box measuring 200x100x5mm. To ensure a secure connection, use 4-sided plates of 5 to 8mm thick for the junction box. The dimensions are: 150mm x 150mm x 5mm.

Concrete : It is recommended to use fresh concrete of grade 300 to ensure Pile driving force ranges from 70 to 120 tons.. In reality, when casting compression samples, the sample achieving a strength of 250 or 300 is due to careful curing in the laboratory. The actual product on the construction site, with the current casting quality, only achieves about 80%. The current unit price of 1 cubic meter of ready-mix concrete with a strength of 300 is 1,320,000 VND/m3.

So, we now have all the materials to complete the reinforced concrete pile with a cross-section of 250mm x 250mm, concrete grade 300, and a single 5mm thick base plate. Now let's calculate the cost of this pile.

For example, the pressing depth is 13 meters, consisting of two sections of 7 tips + 6 end sections. The current steel cost and the use of Viet Nhat or Pomina steel are shown in the following calculation table:

Le Thy pile value table

Thus, the amount of money the pile casting company has to spend to get one meter of pile according to the design I mentioned above is: 282,106 VND

(Two hundred and eighty-two thousand, one hundred and six copper).

At this point, we can ask a question? Why is the deposit price cheaper? There is certainly some undercutting on steel (steel belt sparse, too many pieces of steel, not the right type of steel), not enough grade of concrete, hand-poured concrete Low-quality sand, stone, cement… and many other ways to reduce product costs.

We have spent money to buy products and services, we should consider carefully before making a decision!

Best regards!
